Armouries project
The objective of the armouries project is to improve the storage, management and control of police weapons and ammunition. The Secretariat has identified the Pacific police services with the greatest need for new or improved armouries, and has matched them with donors, including New Zealand Police, the US Department of Defence (through the Joint Inter Agency Task Force West and the Australian Federal Police’s Pacific Police Development Program.
Background
At the 36th PICP Conference in 2007, the Secretariat was directed by the Chiefs to assess the security of police armouries, to identify countries that required urgent assistance and to seek suitable donors to provide this support.

Armouries have been built or upgraded through the project in the following countries:
